Red, Blue, Near-Infrared: Which Light for Which Skin?

The shorter the wavelength, the more it's absorbed at the surface. The longer it is, the deeper it travels through the skin.

  • 415 nm (blue): epidermis, targets Cutibacterium acnes porphyrins — inflammatory blemishes.
  • 630 nm (red): superficial dermis, fibroblasts and collagen — radiance and even skin tone.
  • 660 nm (deep red): mid dermis, cytochrome c oxidase — skin density.
  • 850 nm (near-infrared): deep dermis, microcirculation — firmness and soothing.
  • 590 nm (yellow): deep epidermis, superficial microcirculation — dull skin (limited evidence).

The LUMÉA LED Skin Mask combines these five wavelengths in a single 10-minute session.
