IN MOTION
The LUMÉA LED Skin Mask in action
Ten minutes, hands-free, in an evening routine.
Four technical choices, explained one by one.
We'd rather explain what we chose to include — and what we left out — than string together superlatives.
Five wavelengths
630 and 660 nm red, 590 nm yellow, 415 nm blue, 850 nm near-infrared. Different penetration depths mean different mechanisms — red and near-infrared are the best documented, and we say so.
400 diodes across the entire face
Forehead, cheeks, nose bridge, chin: coverage is continuous rather than concentrated on the central zone. No area receives its dose by chance depending on the mask's position.
Rigid ABS shell
The shell keeps its shape, so the distance between the diodes and the skin stays constant from one session to the next. It wipes clean with a cloth and won't warp in storage.
Ten minutes, hands-free
Photobiomodulation follows a bell-shaped dose-response curve: beyond the optimum, the effect tapers off. Ten minutes per session, three to five times a week — it's a short appointment, not a chore.
Where does LUMÉA stand?
An indicative comparison, not a disguised sales pitch: the market and in-clinic ranges are deliberately broad, since we can't verify them product by product.
| LUMÉA | LED MASKS ON THE MARKET | IN-CLINIC SESSIONS | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Face coverage | 400 diodes, forehead to chin | Often concentrated on the central zone, quantity rarely specified | Large panel, high-power LEDs |
| Documented wavelengths | 5, each sourced in our technical file | 1 to 3, rarely backed by sources | Multiple, calibrated by the practitioner |
| Session duration | 10 minutes | 10 to 30 minutes depending on the model | 15 to 20 minutes, by appointment |
| Indicative cost over 6 months | €99 at launch price, one-time purchase | Variable, from €60 to over €300 | About €60/session based on customer feedback, i.e. several hundred euros at a weekly pace |
| Certification and traceability | CE marking, public and sourced spec sheet | Varies by manufacturer | Regulated medical device |
| Trial and returns | 30 days, full refund | Varies by seller | Not applicable, pay per session |
| At-home use | Yes, hands-free | Yes | No, travel required |
This comparison is based on our spec sheet and ranges generally observed on the market; the “in-clinic” figures reflect customer feedback, not an official price survey. Always check the spec sheet of the product you're interested in.
A slow change, photographed honestly.
These photos are from a 35-year-old user, four sessions a week for twelve weeks. Same lighting, same angle, no makeup or retouching. The result mainly concerns skin tone evenness and the softening of surface fine lines — not deep-set expression wrinkles.
FAITES GLISSER POUR COMPARER
Results vary depending on age, skin type, consistency of use, and sun exposure. No device produces the same effect for everyone.
Light doesn't act on the skin. It acts inside the cell.
Cytochrome c oxidase, the last enzyme in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, absorbs red and near-infrared light. This absorption boosts ATP production, which in turn fuels fibroblast activity. It's an indirect, gradual effect — and that's exactly why it takes weeks.

What our customers say
We publish reviews as we receive them, after verifying the purchase — including the more mixed ones.
A more even complexion from the first month
I've been using the mask six evenings a week for ten weeks. A more even complexion and less redness in the morning. The fine lines under my eyes have softened.
Comfortable, and above all sustainable
The shell is rigid but the strap adjusts well and it doesn't press on the nose. Ten minutes go by quickly.
Very effective on my blemishes
I got it for hormonal acne on my chin. Noticeably fewer new blemishes after six weeks.
Three steps, ten minutes.
Clean, dry skin
Remove makeup, cleanse, dry. Any leftover cream or makeup filters the light and reduces the dose received.
Put it on
Position the mask, adjust the strap, close your eyes, and let the ten minutes pass.
Serums and hydration
Then apply your usual active ingredients. In the morning, always finish with sun protection.
The five questions we hear most.
The full list — safety, use, shipping, warranty — is on the FAQ page.
01Is LED light safe for the skin?
Yes. LED phototherapy emits no ultraviolet radiation: it causes neither burns nor photoaging. The mask carries the CE marking and has been dermatologically tested on sensitive skin.
02How long before you see results?
Radiance and skin comfort generally improve within 2 to 3 weeks. Firmness and texture require 8 to 12 weeks of regular use.
03How many sessions per week?
Three to five 10-minute sessions per week is the reference pace. Consistency matters more than frequency.
04Are there any contraindications?
Not recommended in cases of photosensitive epilepsy, lupus, porphyria, or photosensitizing treatment. Ask a doctor's advice if pregnant or undergoing dermatological treatment.
05What is your return policy?
30 days from receipt to return the mask, tried or not, for a full refund. Return shipping covered within France.
